Harvest Season has hidden dangers, says ATCO Electric (James Hammon)

The Harvest Season is underway in the Northwest, as people are looking top get the grain into the bin.

The early start has seen 20% of the crop harvested, which is 8% ahead of the 5-year average, according to Alberta Agriculture and Irrigation.

But with the task at hand of getting the Grain in, comes hidden dangers that could turn disastrous for farmers and ranchers concerning their health.

Being mindful of where the dangers in the field are like overhead and underground power-lines is something that officials at ATCO Electric emphasize when this season gets rolling.

The stats are staggering of workplace injuries and fatalities, making officials conscious of the message needed to keep everyone safe.
