Heat Warning Continues for Mackenzie Area

A HEAT WARNING issued by Environment Canada continues within the Mackenzie region.

Temperatures are set to hit 29 Degrees Celsius today, with overnight temperatures near 14 degrees.

Officials advise residents to drink plenty of water and other non-alcoholic or non-caffeinated beverages to stay hydrated, and to not leave anyone or any pet inside a closed vehicle.

As well, they ask people to monitor symptoms of heat stroke or heat exhaustion, including high body temperature, lack of sweat, confusion, fainting, and unconsciousness.

As well, they say you should particularly monitor children, seniors, people with lung, heart, kidney, nervous system, mental health or diabetic conditions, outdoor workers, as well as those socially isolated.
