HFCRD Board of Trustees January Meeting Highlights

HFCRD reaching out to other School Divisions in the Region to promote Collaboration

Holy Family Catholic Regional Division Board of Trustees is reaching out to other School Boards in the region to suggest holding special yearly board meetings, to collaborate and discuss topics of mutual interest. Examples of potential topics include Rural Sustainability, Recruitment Challenges, Emergency Preparedness, Transportation, and more.

Board of Trustees Election

The election for the Board of Trustees takes place this October. A web page with key dates and information has been created on our division site.

Ad Hoc Committee formed to advocate further for a new school for St. Andrew’s in High Prairie

A committee of trustees and administration was formed to advocate further for a new school in High Prairie. Another meeting with the Minister has been set up to discuss what is needed to push forward the project. The Town of High Prairie Mayor will be invited to tour the school. HFCRD hopes to involve the community in the advocating process.

Ad Hoc Committee formed to discuss the future of St. Thomas More in Fairview

An Ad Hoc Committee has been formed to plan the future of St. Thomas More in Fairview. An information night with St. Thomas More parents/guardians is being planned, to discuss how operations are going so far in the temporary modular school, and what options are available for the future.

Road Conditions near Rosary School in Manning

Roads Conditions near Rosary School in Manning continue to be discussed. Rosary School has a 50/50 split of town and out-of-town students. Who should be responsible for the road has been debated in Manning Town Council, and they stated that HFCRD should reach out to the County of Northern Lights to ask for funding to pay for repairs. HFCRD is going to continue correspondence with Manning Town Council & the County of Northern Lights, and the issue will be brought up with Peace River School Division Transportation to see if bus drivers have concerns.
