Students from Glenmary High School Junior and Senior Bands saw success at the North Peace Music Festival’s Grand Concert at the beginning of the month.
The school’s Junior band received a superior mark of 90 per cent, with the Senior Band receiving an 85 per cent distinction score.
Brock Whalen, the school’s music teacher, says both groups performed pieces they started working on in February and “students practiced many hours and worked so hard for this and I couldn’t be prouder of everyone.”
The Junior and Senior Bands will continue to practice before heading to the Moose Jaw Band & Choral, which is from May 15-18.
Also, two students from Glenmary have been recommended for provincials in May and June.
