High Level RCMP assault investigation results in firearms and drug charges
High Level, Alta – On Nov. 8, 2024 just after 9:00 p.m., High Level RCMP responded to a complaint of a possible assault in progress between 2 males outside of a residential address in High Level. As police arrived on scene, the investigation determined that the one male had sustained a gun shot wound and had been taken to hospital for the treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The other male party was arrested without incident. During the course of the investigation, RCMP executed a search warrant which resulted in the seizure of additional firearms, illegal drugs and equipment for the purpose of forging credit cards.
23-year-old Dylan Bradley PAUL of High Level has been charged with:
- Discharge Firearm with Intent;
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x2;
- Forgery/Misuse of Credit Card;
- Possess Instruments for Forging Credit Cards;
- Possession of a Prohibited Weapon when Knowing Possession is Unauthorized;
- Possession of a Firearm when knowing Possession is Unauthorized;
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm;
- Weapons Possession Contrary to Order x4;
- Possession of Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose;
- Possession of a Firearm with a Tampered Serial Number;
Throughout the course of the investigation, High Level RCMP seized 78.54 grams of Cocaine, 33.34 grams of Methamphetamine, several illicit prescription pills, and over 150 rounds of ammunition.
Dylan Paul was brought before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody until his next appearance on Nov. 18, 2024 at the Alberta Court of Justice in High Level.
