High Prairie RCMP lay charges after vehicle fled traffic stop
High Prairie, Alta. – On Jan. 28, 2025, Alberta’s Community Response Team (CRT) was in the High Prairie RCMP’s area to assist with a project targeting offenders in the area, when they witnessed a vehicle failing to stop at a stop sign.
CRT members began attempting a traffic stop on the vehicle which began driving into oncoming traffic before eventually stopping at a residence in the area of Gift Lake First Nation, Alta.
Suspects fled on foot and Police Dog Services (PDS) was engaged. PDS dog Peyak, assisted CRT and High Prairie RCMP members on a track.
Evan Anderson (28), a resident of High Prairie, was charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from a police officer, obstruct/resist a police officer.
Evan was brought before a Justice of the Peace, where he was remanded with a court date of Feb. 3, 2025, at the Alberta Court of Justice in High Prairie.
