HP RCMP raid residence in Atikameg, catch one suspect with warrants

High Prairie RCMP locate wanted male

High Prarie, Alta. – On Jan. 9, 2025, High Prairie RCMP began a project to target offenders on warrant in the area of High Prairie and utilized resources from High Prairie RCMP utilized resources from several units, including Faust RCMP, Western Alberta Crime Reduction Unit (WAD CRU), the Provincial Crime Reduction Team (CRT), Alberta’s Emergency Response Team (ERT), High Level and Grande Prairie Police Dog Services (PDS), and RCMP Air Services.

RCMP attended a location near Atikameg, Alta., when a quad fled from RCMP which was associated to Jack George Auger (24), a resident of Atikameg.

Auger was located and arrested after he lodged himself into a snowbank while RCMP attempted to stop his quad.

Auger was charged with 16 offenses, including:

  • Flight from police officer x2
  • Driving offenses
  • Resist/obstruct police officer
  • Possession of stolen property
  • Fail to comply with release order conditions x5
  • Possession of weapons contrary to order x 3
  • Additionally, Auger was arrested for his 26 warrants

Auger was brought before a Justice of the Peace, where he was remanded with a court date of Jan. 20, 2025 at the Alberta Court of Justice in High Prairie.

Additionally, RCMP seized several weapons, approximately 3.77 grams of methamphetamine and 5.88 grams of cannabis.
