
The case of a missing woman from Fort Vermilion has ended in tragedy.
RCMP were looking for Melinda Ruby Auger, the 58 year old was last seen in New Tall Cree on July 24.
A few days later on July 28, officers were notified of human remains that were found in a wooded area near Fort Vermillion.
The remains were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine identity.
Police were notified that the remains were those of Auger.
The death has so far been deemed non-criminal.
Officers say no further information is expected to be released.
