MD of Fairview – May 9th Morning Update

UPDATE – May 9, 2023 at 9:40 a.m.
There have been no significant changes from the previous update. Firefighting efforts are ongoing, with focus on monitoring and extinguishing hot spots and constructing precautionary firebreaks.
As a reminder, conditions can change rapidly and unpredictably and it is forecasted to continue to be hot, with no significant precipitation.
Town of Fairview Fire: Extinguished – The Evacuation Order and Evacuation Alert issued for residents in the Town of Fairview on May 6, 2023 have both been LIFTED.
M.D. of Fairview No. 136 Fire: Held – The Evacuation Advisory issued for residents in the immediate vicinity of the fire between Range Road 25 and Range Road 32 north of Township Road 824 REMAINS IN EFFECT.
ALL residents in the Town of Fairview and the MD of Fairview No. 136 must remain vigilant and be prepared. Visit https://www.alberta.ca/emergency-preparedness.aspx for resources on being prepared for potential emergencies/disasters.
FIRE BANS remain in effect for the Town of Fairview and the M.D. of Fairview No. 136. To view Fire Ban information, visit https://www.albertafirebans.ca/. The Municipalities are requesting that the public practice extreme caution to avoid ignition of new fires.
