The Mighty Peace Basketball League is getting ready for another season.
League President Nick Gagnon says that this year’s setup will be very similar to last season.
“We’ve made a couple of changes. We moved the venue for half of the games to Glenmary School now, the other half will still be in Grimshaw. Otherwise it will be the same kind of setup, 6 or 8 teams, if we can get 8 teams that would be great. It will run from May to June ending with two playoff games.”
Gagnon says they’re hoping to have a couple of more teams taking part this year.
“It would be nice to get new players involved and some new teams. It’s nice that we can get all the Peace River crew again with the usual guys but it would be nice if we could branch out, that’s the goal but whether or not it happens we’re not sure yet. As of right now, we have four of the six or eight teams signed up.”
Gagnon says they did get good feedback from the players and the fans last season.
The season is expected to start on May 4.
