Another Jason Statham action movie. At least, that’s what I’ve been calling it for the past couple of months…is that a bad thing. Not at all.
This movie is exactly what you’d expect. A working man, who has a military history but now works at a construction site, has to take matters into his own hands when someone he cares about is in danger. This is done by some of the same people who did last year’s Beekeeper movie, also with Jason Statham. I did really enjoy that one. Here we do get a little more plot but I don’t think that’s a bad thing.
We follow Statham’s character as he tracks down the person he’s trying to find and periodically takes out members of the Russian mafia. I love watching the villains just get more and more scared of this guy throughout the film.
There were a lot of fun set pieces. There was a motorbike gang that had a throne built out of bike parts. Also, a weird Alice in Wonderland party was thrown by a rich guy. Of course, we get to see a fight in a construction yard too.
Overall I enjoyed the movie and it is worth giving a watch if you are in the mood for some action. Nothing groundbreaking but a whole lotta fun and some tear-jerking scenes as he is working towards reuniting a family.
