A Spooky movie for a spooky day!
I haven’t seen a lot of scary movies but as it seemed like the most fitting time I thought I might as well. Honestly, I really enjoyed it.
Our protagonist Rose Cotter is a therapist and one day she gets a patient that has out-of-the-ordinary symptoms. She claims that she is seeing an entity that smiles. This moment kickstarts the plot of the movie as Rose tries to figure out what this thing is, how she can stop it, and how she can make sure it doesn’t kill her.
I thought the premise of the movie was really interesting as Rose slowly starts to unravel the pieces of this mystery and bit by bit you find out how and why this entity is doing what it is doing. The movie did keep me on the edge of my seat as it constantly teases you with a good scare.
I would definitely say check this movie out if you are looking for suspenseful time. It is not so much gory slasher murder all the time…although that doesn’t mean there is not some of that it is more focused on the psychological scare. Having the protagonist be a therapist with some previous traumas really takes a different angle to the way that it goes about scaring you.
personally, I didn’t find it overly scary but that could just be my personal preference. Either way, if you are interested, put on your best smile, grab your mustache and give it a watch!
I have included the trailer below and if you are curious and want some more details you can definitely give it a watch. This one, I feel, doesn’t give away too much of the plot so you are good to go.
