The first movie monday mentions of 2025. I thought it was alright. It has the same director as The Invisible Man and I think both of these movies fall into the same category of decent horror movies.
We follow a family that is returning to the countryside. The father of the family, Blake, recently had his own father pass away and they are going back to pack up his things. This trip doesn’t go as planned as they encounter the Wolfman. And after getting bitten Blake starts to turn into a wolfman himself.
I think it was an interesting premise and they do try different things with it. We see his POV as he is turning and why he interprets things the way he does. We also see how hard this could be on a family. We do get to see some Wolfman vs. Wolfman action so that’s good.
A lot of the backgrounds and settings they filmed in were very nice, pretty and visually it was beautiful in those scenes. It is a horror film and using the loneliness and isolation of the woods they were in they were able to build up suspense and unervingness which was great.
Overall if you’re looking for a decent horror film I think it fits the bill but there are definitely ones I have enjoyed more. Check out the trailer below if you want to see more.
