Last New Music Thursday courtesy of yours truly… let’s take a peek at some of the musical heavy hitters coming out with new projects tonight!
Neil Young – Coastal
Canadian Legend Neil Young is coming out with another new album, after just having released one earlier this year. Granted, March’s Oceanside Countryside was an album recorded in 1977, while this one is fully new as far as I’m aware. It’s cool to see Young continuing to release music, considering how he’s 79 years young. Get it? Because his name is Neil Young…nevermind.
Wiz Khalifa – Kush + Orange Juice 2
Wiz Khalifa is best known for his incredible feature game, featuring on songs like Maroon 5’s “Payphone” and co-authoring the massive “See You Again” with Charlie Puth, but the 37 year old is showing off that his album game is still on point. Not to mention the stacked feature list on this sequel album, featuring huge artists like Ty Dolla $ign and Don Toliver, as well as about a dozen more artists. This is a sequel (as implied by the 2 at the end of the album name), following up Wiz’s 2010 album Kush + Orange Juice.
Julien Baker + TORRES – Send a Prayer my Way
Julien Baker and TORRES are teaming up for a collaboration album coming out tonight, making an interesting country duo. Julien Baker is a highly recognized artist, having received multiple Grammy wins for her work with group Boygenius, while TORRES has a respectable career of her own. It’ll be interesting to see how this project sounds, with both members of the duo having experience in a few different genres.
Beirut – A Study of Losses
This is the 7th studio album from the world / indie folk group Beirut. The group has seen its successes over the years, but hit its peak popularity with 2015’s No No No. It’s hard to come up with a serious definition for what this band’s sound is like, considering that it’s had 16 members over the course of its existence, all lending their thoughts and ideas to what the sound of each project should be.
Post Malone and Morgan Wallen – “I Ain’t Coming Back”
Post Malone and Morgan Wallen are teaming up again following the success of last year’s “I Had Some Help”, with a new single teasing Wallen’s upcoming album. Post Malone has also teased that he’s been working on a new country album, saying that he’s made two trips to Nashville to work on it and has made about 35 songs to choose from already.
There ya have it, that’s a bunch of new music hitting the shelves tonight. I’ve had a blast putting these together for you over the past couple months, and hope that you’ve enjoyed it as well.
Thanks for reading!
