New Music Thursday: April 3, 2025

First week of April means the first new albums of this month are coming out tonight! Here’s some of the notable releases to keep your eyes and ears out for this evening.

Elton John & Brandi Carlile – Who Believes in Angels?

Famed Brit Sir Elton John is teaming up with American rock icon Brandi Carlile with a new collaborative project coming out tonight. Who Believes in Angels? has already received very positive reviews from critics, currently sitting at a 79 percent score on Album of the Year. The 12 track album features 10 collaborative tracks and 1 from each artist solo.

Djo – The Crux

Djo is releasing a new album tonight, he is known for his song “End of Beginning”, which performed well both radio wise and blew up online. He is also known as an actor, Djo is the alias of Joe Keery, who played Steve Harrington on the hit show Stranger Things. This is the third solo studio album from the Massachusetts-born artist, he had done some work in the 2010’s with a group called Post Animal.

Black Country, New Road – Forever Howlong

Black Country, New Road is a relatively new band considering the level of success that they have achieved, the group being formed in Britain in 2018. This project has received incredible reviews from critics, with it being rated at an 87 percent score before its release, making it the 6th highest rated album to come out so far this year. Black Country, New Road is known for it’s incredible albums in the eyes of reviewers, with their first two projects receiving an average of an 82, and an 88 on their first and second, respectively.

Rachel Chinouriri – Little House

British singer-songwriter Rachel Chinouriri is releasing her sophomore album tonight, titled Little House. Her past works have seen great reviews from critics and listeners alike, and giving a couple of songs a quick listen, I can see why.

Grace VandwerWaal – CHILDSTAR

The former America’s Got Talent winner is coming out with her second album tonight. Her albums have seen good success on the charts in the past, with her debut album charting at 22 on the Billboard 200. Pretty impressive, considering that she was 13 years old at the time of release, making her, without a doubt, a child star.

Pretty good list of albums to start off this month, and I’m excited to see how the rest of the month will go.
