Happy Thursday, it’s everyone’s favourite day of the week, because most of the week’s new tunes are coming out tonight! Let’s take a peek at some of the new albums that are due to be released this evening.
Lady Gaga – Mayhem
Gaga’s first non-soundtrack album in 5 years is coming out tonight, featuring singles “Die with a Smile” and “Abracadabra”. During some recent interviews, Lady Gaga has expressed some frustration about her online image and wishes to be taken more seriously as an artist rather than “just some lady in a meat dress”. Mayhem takes inspiration from rock acts like Nine Inch Nails and Metallica, according to Gaga, so this one might be a more rock-heavy album than we’re used to from the pop icon.
JENNIE – Ruby
Following in the footsteps of her BLACKPINK bandmate LISA, who just released her debut album Alter Ego last week, JENNIE is coming out with her debut album tonight. The 15 track album features well known artists Doechii, Dominic Fike, Childish Gambino, Dua Lipa, and more. JENNIE has confirmed that the album, like LISA’s, will be mostly English speaking. 3 singles from Ruby have been released, “Mantra”, “Love Hangover”, and “ExtraL”.
Zeds Dead – Return to the Spectrum of Intergalactic Happiness
Canadian electronic duo Zeds Dead is releasing a new album tonight, with an abnormally long name. While they have released almost a dozen EP’s and a few remix albums, this will only be their second full-length album of brand new music. They’re also going on a tour to support the album launch, but unfortunately there’s only one Canadian show, which is in Toronto.
Franc Moody – Chewing the Fat
The British Indietronica duo is coming out with a new album tonight. Franc Moody has seen a slight decrease in popularity in their new music, with their most popular projects being 2018’s Dance Moves and 2020’s Dream in Colour, but regardless I’m excited for this new album.
The Wiggles – Wiggle Up, GIddy Up!
Here’s one that I bet you didn’t expect – kid’s show legends The Wiggles are releasing a new album tonight. The group has been around since the 90’s, albeit with a rotating cast, but this new album will be a fan favourite of kids around the world I’m sure. I was jamming out to Fruit Salad Yummy Yummy when I was 3.
Here’s some of the new releases scheduled to come out tonight! Have a great Thursday!
