Crystal Colville, an educator and administrator with about 15 years of experience, most recently served as principal at Little Buffalo School.

And now, with her new position, Colville says she’s ready for the challenge.

“I fell at this point in my career,” she said in a news release. “The Pedagogical supervisor position will help me make an impact on student learning and development, as well as growth of the staff working with our students.”

Her new responsibilities involve her working with educators to enhance learning in literacy, numeracy and First Nations & Metis education.

“The most important thing for me is children,” said Colville. “I want to make sure that their education is the best in the north, and I look forward with anticipation to working with teachers and students.”

Colville holds a Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of Alberta, with a minor in Early Childhood Education. She’s also working towards her Master’s in Education with a focus on literacy, curriculum, teaching, learning studies and leadership.

The schools specifically in her responsibility include Little Buffalo School, Paddle Prairie School, Dr. Mary Jackson School, Bishop Routhier School, Gift Lake School, Hillview School, Grouard Northland School, Susa Creek School, Peerless Lake School and Kateri School.
