August 5, 2021 – The Peace River Forest Area wildfire danger is high and has a fire advisory in effect. Current fire permits will remain active and new permits will be evaluated on a case-by-care basis.
The advisory allows:
- Safe wood campfires
- Backyard fire pits
- Portable propane fire pits
- Gas or propane stoves and barbecues
- Catalytic or infrared-style heaters
-PWF-044 is under control at 1.78 hectares.
-PWF-048 is currently out of control at 169 hectares. This wildfire is located 75 km northwest of Manning. 55 firefighters, six helicopters and six pieces of heavy equipment are assigned to this wildfire.
