Peace River man to appear in court on attempted murder charge following incident in Little Buffalo

An 18-year-old male will be in court on Thursday to answer to several charges, including attempted murder. According to the Peace Regional RCMP, officers were called to Little Buffalo after reports of several people fighting in the streets at around 11:40 on Friday night.

One male allegedly bear sprayed another male and left on an ATV. That male is said to have returned with a firearm and fired a single shot towards the male he is said to have sprayed earlier and then fled on his ATV. Officers found the suspect at a nearby residence and he was arrested.

Jayden Lance Laboucan of Peace River has been charged with:

  • attempted murder  possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose (x2)
  • assault with a weapon (x2)
  • careless use of a firearm
  • pointing a firearm
  • unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • uttering threats

A 22-year-old male from Little Buffalo is also facing a charge of uttering threats in relation to this incident.  His charges have not yet been sworn. The RCMP says all individuals involved in this incident are known to each other.
