Peace River Meals on Wheels

The Town of Peace River’s Meals on Wheels program is on its way back.  The service is opening its doors again on March 5th after it was closed for about a year.  Their original partner had to pull out after its location suffered significant damage due to last year’s downtown flood.  However, since then, Senior Services Coordinator Amina Usman says a new food provider has been found.  However, Usman adds the town is still looking for more volunteers to help deliver the food.  Anyone who is willing to help can contact Amina at the town office, at 780-624-1000.  The program is for seniors and anyone else with temporary medical conditions.  Anyone who is under 60 years of age needs a doctor’s note to participate in the program.  People aged 60 and above do not need to make that requirement.
