The Town of Peace River remains keen on seeing the so-called Graffiti Bandit get caught.

At a council meeting on Monday, June 26, 2017, councillors unanimously approved a motion to offer a $1,000 reward for information leading to the bandit’s arrest.
Councillor Colin Needham, who made the motion, says he’s angry about some of the public and private property that’s been vandalized, naming the newly-built Peace River Rotary House as one example.
“That’s regrettable,” said Needham. “It’s a building of great community pride that was about five years in the making. And to be perfectly blunt, it just sickens me to see that happen.
“Peace River has got a strong community pride throughout the core, and this is the kind of stuff that we simply don’t stand for,” he continued. “Some people are quietly cheering for the bandit to be caught, and I hope that somebody comes forward with information in order to get this resolved.”
Just prior to the Peace Pride Event earlier this month, the old SAAN store was spray-painted with derogatory comments aimed toward the LGBTQ2+ community. As well, another building was spray-painted with anti-Muslim rhetoric.
Anyone with information leading to the arrest of the Graffiti Bandit is asked to call Peace Regional RCMP at (780) 624-6677.
