So A & W released a new potato patty on their peri peri burgers. This was because they noticed that customers and employees alike were doing a meal hack. They were substituting a hash brown for a burger patty. So, they decided to capitalize on this trend they noticed and release it…for a limited time. This is part of their peri peri buddy burger promotion. These burgers are available with either a potato chicken or beef patty. I decided to try all three so maybe you don’t have to.
The beef patty is the pretty standard patty it is what you expect from from A & W and isn’t bad but not the best. I feel like with the peri peri sauce it doesn’t mix as well and feels like there’s something missing or that it could be better.
I think the potato patty was the second best and most interesting. it can be a vegan option which is great and it was fairly good. It is basically just a hash brown but whether it was the grease or maybe the more neutral flavour I thought it worked fairly well and I want to try this patty in some other burger to see how it can do.
Now maybe it’s what you expect but the best thing for peri peri is the chicken patty. It was absolutely delicious had the right amount of crunch and just works. Need I say more.
Overall I would give the new potato patty a try even if you want meat it’s still good and a great alternative.
