Police Investigating Suspicious Fires In Peace River

Some suspicious fires that happened in Peace River this week are being investigated by RCMP.

Police and the Fire Department responded to a grass fire near Highway 2 and 100 Avenue at around 2:22 AM yesterday.

Then again 2:58 AM they responded to a grass fire near the Peace River High School, and at 8:05 AM they responded to a fire at a business on 93 Street where a porta-potty had been set on fire.

All the fires were extinguished and no injuries were reported.

Peace River RCMP said in a statement that they quote “continue to emphasize the importance of fire safety and following the fire bans during these times.”

RCMP is asking for the public’s help in identifying those responsible for these incidents.
