The cause of the power outage that had roughly 1000 customers without power has been located. ATCO Electric is currently working on getting it fixed and power should be restored by 6pm. ATCO Electric out of Grande Prairie has informed the AM610 Newsroom about a power outage. Clyde Blackburn says it happened around 8 o’clock this morning and roughly 1000 customers are affected. The areas it hits are Gordondale, Bay Tree and Silver Valley. Blackburn says that a transmission line tripped out, but the cause as to why is not known at this time. Crews are on the ground and in the air to try and find the contributing factor to the outage. ATCO has said they will be coming out with updates once new information is available.
