Key leaders from Peace River, including Mayor Elaine Manzer and Chief Administrative Officer Barb Miller, met with Alberta’s Deputy Premier and Minister of Public Safety, Mike Ellis, to tackle pressing issues like public safety, homelessness, addiction, and crime.
The meeting also included Minister of Mental Health and Addictions Dan Williams and other officials.
A significant outcome was a $30,000 grant to study policing models tailored to the community’s needs.
While these challenges are not unique to Peace River, local leaders emphasized the urgency of addressing them and expressed gratitude for provincial support.
They remain committed to exploring solutions and ensuring safety for residents and businesses alike.
