With kids going back to school in the fall, the Peace River School Division is recruiting bus drivers across the region.
PRSD’s Assistant Transportation Manager, Crystal Gordey, says the are some areas in particular where they’re looking to get more drivers.
“We definitely are looking for drivers in the Peace River area and in the Manning area, that’s where our shortfalls are. We could be looking at having runs that do not have bus drivers full time for the start of the school year.”
Gordey says there are some perks to being a school bus driver.
“To either provide an additional income to contribute to their family. They enjoy working with kids. They have flexibility of employment. Parents can bring their kids under five, with authorization, and then they don’t have to pay for child care costs.”
