Red Earth Creek RCMP seek public assistance in location of missing male – Update 3
Red Earth Creek, Alta. – Red Earth Creek RCMP continue to investigate missing 34-year-old Cory Netowastanum, a resident of Loon River First Nation.
As of Jan. 22, 2025, Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit have taken carriage of the investigation with the assistance of Red Earth Creek and surrounding RCMP Detachments.
RCMP continue to be present in the community and ask for the cooperation of community members throughout the course of this investigation.
RCMP are thankful for the community assistance thus far, as previously RCMP were looking for information on an individual and vehicle that was seen with Cory, however it has been learned that this is unrelated to Cory currently being missing.
This investigation is still ongoing and any information, however small it may be, may be extremely important for investigators.
RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the location of, or sightings of Cory who has been missing since the evening of Jan. 10, 2025. Red Earth Creek, Alta. – Red Earth Creek RCMP is seeking public assistance in locating missing 34-year-old Cory Netowastanum. Cory was last seen on Jan. 11, 2025, at the skating rink in Loon Lake. There is concern for his wellbeing.
Cory is described as:
- 5 foot 10 inches tall
- Approximately 210 pounds
- Medium complexion
- Brown hair and brown eyes

Red Earth Creek, Alta. – On Jan. 10, 2025, at 5:30 p.m., at the Loon Lake Esso, Cory was seen wearing a green camo hoodie with FXR on it, jeans and what appears to be Dunlop boots under his jeans. Cory was seen entering a white dodge ram 1500 truck in front of the Loon Lake ESSO.
