This season sees the High Prairie Regals come back one year after the team folded due to a lack of players and sponsor. The NPHL board voted to at their Annual General Meeting on Wednesday, September 28, 2017, to let the team back in unanimously.

“This year, we have more players,” Allan Lamouche from the Regals said at the meeting. “And that includes graduating players from the midget level.”

With that in mind, Lamouche said that the team’s now confident they can ice a team.

As well, according to the draft minutes from the meeting, High Prairie’s proposed list of players included guys who played for the Valleyview Jets and the Falher Pirates this last season. Representatives from both teams said that they would grant player releases to anyone wishing to return to the Regals.

As well, the Manning Comets, after a one-year leave of absence, is coming back this year.

Each team will play 22 games this season, with the league tentatively set to begin play on Saturday, October 28.

The full NPHL Schedule is set to be released on Monday, October 9, 2017.
