The Mackenzie Municipal Services Agency is currently accepting applications for the Robert E. Walter Memorial Scholarship.
The Scholarship is to financially assist people from the North Peace and Mackenzie regions going to post secondary programs who are than working back in the area.
Applicants can receive one $500 scholarship per year. They can receive up to two per program but must apply a second time in order to be considered.
The deadline to apply is March 31, 2022 and you must be a resident of the North Peace or Mackenzie regions in north western Alberta and follow the five steps below.
- Provide a cover letter.
- Include letters of recommendation.
- Complete the Application Form.
- Include a copy of your grades.
- Include a list of your academic achievements and community involvement.
Robert E. Walter was the Town of High Level’s first Mayor. He was also a founding member of the Mackenzie Regional Planning Commission presently named the Mackenzie Municipal Services Agency, an organization he chaired for many years.
Walter was said to have had an unwavering opinion on the need for northern Alberta educational opportunities, and retaining youth in the region. with those ideals in mind the Memorial Scholarship was established. For complete details and the application form you can go here.
