Four school divisions within the Peace and Mackenzie regions are delaying the start of the upcoming academic year.
The Holy Family Catholic Regional Division, the Peace River School Division, the Fort Vermilion School Division and the Northland School Division have all confirmed the first day of classes will be on September 8.
The original date was August 31 but school boards and divisions indicated they needed more time to prepare for a safe return for students and staff due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The High Prairie School Division has stated that classes will resume on August 31 but students will be coming to class by staggered entry.
The Conseil Scolaire du Nord-Ouest will start on September 3.
