The Town of Peace River is set host a series of four public meetings at Athabasca Hall.
Peace River Mayor Tom Tarpey told the AM 610 Newsroom that they’re trying to reach out to the residents of the community for their input on how to improve the community.
The first meeting goes on Wednesday, May 24, 2017. It will be centred for people living on the north side of downtown, as well as the Cool Springs neighbourhood.
The next meeting goes on Wednesday, May 31, 2017. This one’s focus is on the downtown itself, as well as anyone who lives in the community’s south side.
Wednesday, June 7, 2017 brings meeting number three. The focus is on those who live in the Shaftesbury Estates, the Lower, and Upper, West Peace, Rosedale, the Pines, Misery Mountain, as well as the Terrace Court communities.
And the final community meeting take place on Wednesday, June 14, 2017. This one will cover the communities of Westbrook, Saddleback, and Cheviot Heights.
Tarpey says you don’t need to necessarily come to the meeting when you’re community is the main focus.
“If you can’t make your community’s special date,” he said. “But you still want to give the town a piece of your mind, or if you have a suggestion for an improvement, or other ideas to move the town forward, you’re more than welcome to attend on any of the four days.”
Each meeting is set to go from 7 to 9 PM.
