This week is a favourite for many! It’s Smile Cookie week at Tim Horton’s across the country, and the branch in Peace River has had an amazing response to this years fundraising campaign. 100% of the proceeds goes towards an equally amazing local organization; “Always Find a Reason to Smile”. The organization brings awareness to suicide prevention around the peace region all year round.
“It’s the best feeling in the world, if you want a dream job it’s delivering smile cookies.”
The organization helps the Peace River location by coming in and decorating the cookies and delivering them around the region. Casey Szmata, founder of Always Find a Reason to Smile says “It’s the best feeling in the world, if you want a dream job it’s delivering smile cookies.” Szmata also noted this years support has blown last year out of the water with a huge influx of orders with dozens of the happy treats.
Szmata says everything her organization does is for supporting and healing those who have been affected by suicide and those struggling currently. “It’s not just my family that has been affected by this, it’s so many families. We have to rally together and save these kids”
