  1. The Grande Prairie and District Catholic School Division and the Holy Family Catholic Regional Division are meeting with Alberta Education.
    The meeting is happening tomorrow to discuss the move of St. Thomas More School in Fairview from the Grande Prairie board to the Holy Family Division.
  2. The Alberta Chamber of Commerce has awarded one of five honours, as their Chambers of the Year.
    The chambers from Cardston, Coaldale, Fort McMurray, Okotoks and Grimshaw have that title for 2023.
  3. Once again there is no physician at the Emergency Department of the Fairview Health Complex. This disruption goes until 7am on Wednesday morning.
    Elected officials are still assuring residents that Doctors are being recruited to the area.
  4. Dan Williams says the establishment of a drug recovery community in Grande Prairie will be a huge asset for the Peace Region. (Interview on App)
    The Minister of Mental Health and Addictions says the province will be looking to continue partnering with local municipalities for addiction treatment facilities.
  5. Claudia Sheinbaum is a physicist with a doctorate in energy engineering, the former mayor of one of the world’s most populous cities, and was part of the United Nations panel of climate scientists that received a Nobel Peace Prize.
    And on Sunday, she became the first woman, and the first of Jewish heritage, to be elected president of Mexico.
  6. Rapper and singer Sean Kingston is back in South Florida, where he and his mother are charged with committing more than a million dollars’ worth of fraud.
  7. The North Peace Hockey League is expanding for the 2025 season.
    The Fox Creek Knights have entered the League and will play, but the application for the High Prairie Regals has been rejected.
    The season starts on October 18, with Spirit River being the defending champions.
  8. Wheatbelt Baseball League tonight… Grimshaw is in High Prairie, and Rycroft is in Sexsmith.
  9. The Toronto Blue Jays open a four-game set against Baltimore tonight at Roger’s Center. Kevin Gausman starts for the Jays against Grayson Rodriguez.
  10. A lot are on the bandwagon of the Edmonton Oilers after two pretty big upsets of Vancouver and Dallas in the NHL playoffs, so I have some good news and bad news…
    The good news is that the Oilers are in the finals for the first time since 2006, and after nine seasons, Connor McDavid will finally put a team banner in Roger’s Place.
    The bad news is still not doing anything for the lack of popularity for the NHL. Game 1 of the final is not until Saturday night…
  11. It will be damp and dreary in the Northwest for the next 36 hours. Highs will be in the low to mid teens, with lows being comfortable at night.
    Skies will clear off mid-week, and warm up for the weekend.
