  1. AHS has issued a Water Quality Advisory for Young`s Point Provincial Park near Valleyview.
    Elevated levels of fecal bacteria have been detected in the water. Officials are advising people not to swim or wade in at the beach.
  2. The Summer’s End Festival in Fairview is taking place all day Saturday in the Downtown. It starts with the Peace Classic Wheels Car show at 10:30 and the parade at 11:00.
    Two active stages are present plus children’s entertainment, circus performers, and a street dance to end the day.
    River Country and Kix FM are live on location with the travelling road show from the event.
  3. Berwyn Mania is happening on Saturday, as a celebration of the completion of the Main Street paving project.

  4. High Level is also getting into the Summer’s end theme. Their party is Saturday at Jubilee Park behind Town Hall.
    Their feature event is the Colour Run and walk with a shotgun start at 2:30. A FREE Outdoor Market, plus bouncy houses food trucks and a band are also featured.
  5. Training Camp starts today for the North Peace Navigators of the NWJHL today at the Baytex Energy Center.
    Camps for the La Crete Lumber Barons and the Fairview Flyers run after Labour Day.
    Week 13 of the CFL continues tonight, with Hamilton is in Winnipeg. BC’s in Ottawa tomorrow, Edmonton is in Montreal on Sunday.
  6. The Toronto Blue Jays continue a four-game weekend set at home to the LA Angels tonight. Chris Bassitt starts for the Jays against Jack Kochanowicz.
  7. Mostly Sunny skies are in store for today in the Northwest. Highs this afternoon are in the low to mid 20`s with lows tonight around 13, except 8 in the Mackenzie.
    Air Quality is an issue today in the Mackenzie, and rain will be the story of tomorrow in the Northwest. Digits will cool off as well.
