  1. Students in the High Prairie School Division are heading back to class today.
    That means extra caution needs to be undertaken when travelling this morning and this afternoon near education facilities. (Murray Marran Interview on App.)
  2. Sandra McMaster, the Mayor of the hamlet of Enterprise in the Territories, presented Peace River Mayor Elaine Manzer with gifts for the town.
    The gifts were for the services brought forward when the Hamlet evacuated residents in 2023 because of wildfire.
  3. Residents in Meander River will be without power this afternoon. A planned outage is happening from 1:30-3:30. About 330 residents are being affected.
  4. Premier Danielle Smith has revealed the next phases of the restructuring of health care in the province.
    That includes the removal of Alberta Health Services as the operator of facilities, as well as the turnover to other operators, like Covenant Health.
  5. Alberta Health Services is investigating a Shiga-toxin producing E. coli outbreak at a Blackfalds day care.
    Three children and one employee at the Aspen Lakes Discovery Centre location on Parkwood Road have tested positive.
  6. The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit is investigating a homicide after a person was stabbed at the Edmonton Corn Maze on Highway 627 near Spruce Grove.
    The suspect remained on scene and was arrested. Police said the victim and suspect were guests at the Corn Maze and knew one another.
  7. Football Alberta has schedules out for local and high school football for the fall season of 2024.
    Changes this season in the Peace Region include High Prairie, Peace River, Valleyview, Whitecourt and Edson moving to 9-a-side.

  8. The Toronto Blue Jays continue their series at Fenway in Boston tonight. Chris Bassitt starts for the Jays against Brayan Bello.
  9. Sunshine happens today, and is on the horizon heading into next week, in the Northwest. Highs this afternoon are in the low 20’s, with lows tonight at, or just below 10.
    Digits might nudge 30 degrees during the upcoming long weekend.
