  1. Valleyview RCMP and the ALERT team are currently executing a search warrant on a property outside of town.
    Authorities are in the process of dismantling a suspected Drug Lab. The Warrant was served yesterday and police say it is expected to last for several days.
  2. The Peace River School Division has a vacant seat on its Board.
    Ward 4 trustee Moise Dion has been disqualified in connection to Code of Conduct violation and inappropriate comments directed at an employee.
    Dion was to undertake remedial actions, but refused compliance, and a request for resignation.
  3. The second round of funding is now available from the Provincial Government through the Drought and Flood Protection Program.
    More than $19 million dollars is present to help municipalities and First Nations protect infrastructure from flooding and drought.
  4. The Provincial Government’s MLA Advisory Committee has recommended the province not move forward for allowing liquor sales in grocery and convenience stores.
    The decision is based on current model standards to protect Alberta’s private liquor industry.
  5. Alberta’s nurses could soon find themselves on the picket line as recent talks with the provincial government failed to secure a new agreement.
    The union is seeking 30 per cent pay raises spread over two years while the Alberta government’s offer is 7.5 per cent over four years.

    Highs today are nearing 10 degrees, with lows tonight are around zero, except -7 in the MacKenzie. The Peace and MacKenzie could see some rain tomorrow.
