  1. RCMP Major Crimes and Fairview authorities have four people in custody after a months-long murder investigation.
    Back in May, Police were notified of a body found that was disposed of in a remote area. All four are due in Peace River court this morning.
  2. Investigations are continuing into an early morning house fire on Friday in Peace River.
    Crews were able to contain the damage to the interior, and all occupants escaped with no injuries.
  3. Conseil Scolaire du Nord-Ouest has approved the implementation of steps to open a daycare at École Héritage in Falher.
    A survey was previously taken to determine the number of children enrolled, and overall interest of a francophone daycare.
  4. After a year of playing in nearby Whitelaw, patrons of the Fairview Curling Club are ready to Rock the House at home.
    The Club is back open for the upcoming season, after roof repairs sidelined the 2024 season. (Clint Wild Interview on App)
  5. Grimshaw Town Council will be writing a letter to the province regarding security issues at the Grimshaw/Berwyn and District Community Health Center.
    The letter is going to Health Minister Adriana LaGrange, as well as AHS executives, the RCMP, and Peace River MLA Dan Williams.
  6. Peace River will play Whitecourt in the Football Alberta High School 9-a-side semi-final.
    Peace River beat High Prairie 59-0 on Saturday, while Whitecourt pulled out a 10-8 win over Valleyview on Friday.
  7. Five Canadian teams are in action in the NHL tonight… Edmonton is in Columbus, Calgary is in Las Vegas, Carolina is in Vancouver, and Toronto is in Winnipeg.
  8. Game 3 of the World Series is tonight. LA’s in New York, the Dodgers are up 2-0.
  9. Dwyane Wade’s status as a Miami Heat legend was further cemented on Sunday as the franchise unveiled an eight-foot statue of the three-time NBA champion.
    However, some people are questioning the likeness of the statue, saying it looks like either Lawrence Fishburne, or Kelsey Grammer.
  10. A chance of flurries is expected today and tonight in the Northwest. Highs this afternoon are around zero, with lows tonight below -10, except in the Big Lakes at -3.
    Skies clear off, and will stay cool for the rest of this week.
