  1. Crews are continuing to work on snow removal from the streets of the Peace Region. Drivers are expected to obey road signs and parking by-laws with clearing in progress.
    Residents are also being reminded to keep walkways and sidewalks clear of snow and ice, especially with the weather getting warmer this weekend.
  2. More towns and villages are getting into the Christmas spirit this weekend. Christmas Parades and light-ups happen tonight in Grimshaw, Fairview and Dixonville.
    Parades and events are also happening tomorrow in High Level and in Berwyn.
  3. The County of Northern Lights is handing out Grant Money. $10,000 has been given to the Manning Cooperative Seed Cleaning Plant.
    The money is to assist in the purchase and installation of a Clipper Seed Cleaner. County Council has also loaned $65,000 to the plant for equipment replacement.
  4. Many jurisdictions in the Peace and Mackenzie are developing ways to make things easy for Bill Payments for residents.
    With the Strike at Canada Post now entering its fourth week, administration and office staff are putting out notices of ways to have payments made.
  5. The Brick in Peace River is having their Brickley Bear promotion starting on Monday. Donations of the purchase of Brickley Bear go to the Children’s Miracle Network.

  6. NWJHL tonight… Beaverlodge is in Peace River, Fairview is in Fort St. john, and Sexsmith is in Grande Prairie. Dawson Creek plays in La Crete tomorrow and Sunday.
  7. NPHL tonight… High Prairie is in Fox Creek, and Manning is in Valleyview.
    Tomorrow, Falher is in Manning, Valleyview is in Fort St. John, Grande Prairie is in Spirit River, and Fox Creek is in Dawson Creek.
  8. AEHL this weekend… The U-13’s play 3 on the road, The U-15’s play tomorrow in Fort St. John and Sunday in Falher, The U-18’s play 2 on the road.
  9. NJHL this weekend… The High Prairie Red Wings play tonight at home to Mayerthorpe, and tomorrow in Mayerthorpe.
  10. AJHL this weekend…The Grande Prairie Storm play tonight and tomorrow at home to Drayton Valley.
  11. The warmest day of the week is today in the Northwest, with generally sunny skies. Highs this afternoon are above zero in the Peace and Big Lakes, but -8 in the Mackenzie.
    Cloud cover takes over tonight with flurries in the forecast for the weekend, also in the Peace and Big Lakes. Monday cools off significantly, but stabilizes to just below zero towards mid-week.
