  1. An update to a missing person case in High Prairie… 32 year-old Dion Alexander has been located and is safe.
    Alexander was reported missing just before New Year’s.
  2. Peace Regional RCMP have a young man in custody on B&E charges. Police say just before Christmas, they responded to a business alarm on Main Street downtown.
    22 year-old Tanner Hatter of Peace River is due in court next month.
  3. He’s looking to continue moving forward into 2025 at the Legislature.
    Mental Health and Addictions Minister and Peace River MLA Dan Williams see a lot of bright spots coming from last year and into this year. (Interview in separate story)
  4. The MD of Greenviewe is looking for public input on their current Land-Use Bylaw. A series of Open Houses are happening for the public to engage with MD officials.
    A total of nine events are occuring, including in Sunset House, Valleyview, Little Smoky, and New Fish Creek.
  5. The Northern Sunrise County office is lighting up awareness in January. The Office is lit in blue, in honour of Alzheimer’s Awareness Month.
    Over 62,000 Albertans, and over 730,000 people across the country, live with dementia.
  6. With a federal election on the horizon, Alberta and Saskatchewan’s premiers are again making noise about the country’s contentious equalization program.
    Alberta Premier Danielle Smith and Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe took aim at the program, with Smith charging the current arrangement isn’t fair or sustainable.
  7. NWJHL tonight… Beaverlodge is in Peace River, and Fairview is in Dawson Creek.
  8. Four games in the NHL tonight… Vancouver is in Washington, Calgary is in LA, Colorado is in Chicago, and Florida is in Utah.
  9. Numbers will fall below zero this afternoon, and will nudge -20 tonight in the Peace and Mackenzie, who could also see some snow Thursday night.
