- Some local school divisions have been responding to a data breach is affecting clients of PowerSchool.
The Holy Family Catholic Regional Division, the Fort Vermilion School Division, and the Peace River School Division were affected, but were not notified until this past week. - The Sacred Heart Community Health Complex in McLennan is back to having a doctor on-site.
No physician was present yesterday, meaning triage was handled by only the nursing staff.
Meanwhile, docs in Valleyview have returned after an 18-hour absance from the Emergency Department, which ended at 7:00 this morning. - The Alberta government says 40 wildland firefighters are on their way to California to aid in the battle against flames devastating the Los Angeles area.
A government spokesperson says that some of them are from our region, including Peace River, High Level, Grande Prairie and Slave Lake. - Registration is now open for booths and businesses for The SARDA Ag. Research Agriculture Trade Show in Falher at the end of March.
Registration is also happening for the Manning Regional Expo, the week before Easter, and the Northern Connections Expo at the end of April in Peace River.
Also on the radar is the High Prairie Gun and Sportsman show at the end of April, and the Clear Hills County Ag. Trade show in mid-April as well. - Alberta Premier Danielle Smith said her conversations with U.S. President-Elect Donald Trump went well, but the leader’s tariff threat has not been averted.
The premier met with Trump at Mar-a-Lago over the weekend, where she spoke with him about Alberta energy and its benefits for the American economy. - Christy Clark and François-Philippe Champagne announced Tuesday that they will not run in the race to replace Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
These announcements come alongside news that Chrystia Freeland, Karina Gould and Mark Carney are expected to announce their plans to run for the leadership. - The Princess of Wales revealed Tuesday that her cancer is in remission after an emotional visit to the hospital where she received treatment last year.
It was the first time the princess had offered any detail on her diagnosis. Earlier, she had completed her chemotherapy, without offering any information on her prognosis. - Six Canadian teams hit the ice in the NHL tonight.

After that, the clear skies will disappear, and the flurries will be coming back. As well, much cooler temperatures, which include lows of numbers nudging -30, as early as Friday night.
