  1. Peavey Industries LP says it is closing its stores across Canada. Store-closing sales will start at 90 Peavey Mart stores and six MainStreet Hardware locations.
    Closing dates for the stores in Peace River and High Prairie has not been announced yet.
  2. For the second time in two weeks, a resident of Fairview is under arrest for breaching release orders.
    On Friday, 30 year-old Friedrich Schmdt was brought into custody after an RCMP traffic stop.
  3. RCMP in Red Earth Creek are still on the hunt for a wanted woman.
    30 year-old Caitlyn Whitney Noskey is still at large.
  4. Red Earth Creek RCMP are continuing to search for a missing resident from Loon Lake.
    34 year-old Cory Netowastanum was reported missing back on January 17, and was last seen on January 11 at the skating rink in Loon Lake.
  5. The local business sector was honoured in Peace River over the weekend.
    The 2025 Davis Business Awards were handed out at the Quality Hotel and Conference Center. (Winners in separate story)
  6. Three Canadian teams are in action in the NHL tonight… Washington is in Calgary, and Winnipeg is in Montreal.
  7. Curling Canada has announced the pools for the Canadian Women’s Curling Championship.
    Kayla Skrlik is in Pool A with defending champion Rachel Homan, along with fellow Albertan Selena Sturmay. The tournament starts Valentine’s Day in Thunder Bay.
  8. A mild day is in store for the Northwest this afternoon, but after that, the snow starts falling, and so do the temperatures.
    Under a predominantly cloudy day, although the sun will peak through the odd time, highs will be around 6 or 7 degrees, with lows tonight around -5.
    The snow will start falling tonight and basically continue falling until the weekend.
