  1. Whitecourt RCMP have a man in custody on a laundry list of charges, including possession of stolen property.
    However, authorities are looking for the rightful owners of said stolen property. Detail in separate story)
  2. A man from Grimshaw has been given nine months probation, and a five-year ban from firearms after pleading guilty to multiple charges.
    Brayden Joseph Whiteman was sentanced on possession of a firearm, and possession of stolen property.
    A search recovered the stolen property from a home in Grimshaw last November.
  3. A science Department at the University of British Columbia, as well as BC Hydro, are asking a PHD student to collect weather data for future predictions in Peace River.
    Data collection is being done, as helium balloons are being released into the atmosphere, attached to weather transmitters to obtain the information. (Lynn Engel Interview in separate story)
  4. Mercer’s been selected as one of the top Employers in Alberta for 2025.
    The award recognizes 80 employers in the Province that lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work.
  5. Chris Johnson at Misery Mountain says the more snow we’ve had this year has provided both relief and excitement.
    Johnson adds with the amount of snow they’ve been able to make as well, they hope to keep the season going for as long as possible. (Interview in separate story)
  6. NPHL tonight… Valleyview is in Fox Creek.
  7. Speaking of the Knights, they are forfeiting their last game of the season tomorrow in Manning.
    That forfeiture means the Comets will win the 2025 Lawrence Cup with the best overall record in the League.
  8. Five Canadian teams hit the ice in the NHL tonight…
    Detroit is in Edmonton, Anaheim is in Calgary, Winnipeg is in Boston, Minnisota is in Montreal, and Washington is in Ottawa.
  9. Light snow is scheduled for today and tonight, and the snow will continue into tomorrow and Saturday in the Northwest.
    Add to that, dipping digits during that timeframe, which will see highs in the -20’s and lows in the -30’s by the weekend. Temps will warm up slightly by next week.
