- Town officials are reminding residents that winter is still here, and they are looking to remove that winter, for the time being.
Snow removal is happening in High Level, Falher and Grimshaw today and for the next few days. - Peace Playland in Peace River has had people step up to the plate with various events and fundraisers over the past few months.
The future of the Toy Library was in critical condition back in the fall, but new Board members, and successful casino, and having more exposure with their location next to J’s Java Domain downtown has helped. - The Numb Bum 24-hour motorcycle endurance ice race is happening in March, weather permitting, on Clairmont Lake near Grande Prairie.
But the documentary on the race is happening Next saturday afternoon at the Community Center Theatre in Fairview. - The town of Peace River is expressing interest in joining a Regional Policing Committee.
The jurisdictions in that committee are Drayton Valley, Whitecourt, Hinton and Edson. They would join Peace River, as part of the RCMP District West. - Ray Bourget of the Fairview Ski Hill says their night skiing on Wednesdays has been a popular event.
Bourget is hopeful that they’ll get enough snow to keep the hill going until the end of March. - National Flag Day is Saturday, and it marks the 60th anniversary of the observance.
In light of the Trade War with the US, and the heightening of awareness to shop Canadian, residents are being asked to show their patriotism during the day. - NWJHL playoff tonight… Game 3 – Dawson Creek is in Peace River, the series is tied at one. The snow will taper off tonight, and the wind chills will be in the -30’s, and bordering on -40 in the Mackenzie. Skies will start to clear off more, as we head towards the long weekend.
