  1. The MD of Peace is down a significant role in administration. CAO Margaret McClarty was dismissed from her duties last month.
    Although no reason was given for the termination, Reeve Robert Willing says it was an issue relating to personnel, thus making the ruling confidential.
  2. The Town of High Level has seen person’s crimes stats drop in the first month of 2025.
    The RCMP is reporting a 42% decrease inactivity compared to January of 2024. As well, calls last year went down by over 300, compared to 2023.
  3. Big Lakes County has launched their new FoodCycler program.
    The initiative offers residents a chance to pilot an new counter-top composter, converting food scraps into compost in a short period of time.
  4. Trade Show season is getting underway starting today in Grande Prairie.
    The 40th annual Peace Country Classic Ag. Show runs today through Saturday at Evergreen Park.\
  5. The Alberta government is halting the purchase of American goods, including cutting off liquor imports, but will not allow export tariffs on oil.
    Smith announced plans to combat what she calls U.S. President Donald Trump’s “unjustified” and illegal tariffs on most Canadian exports.
