  1. Spirit River RCMP are asking for the public’s help in locating a wanted person. 41 year-old Kyle Dale Hudson of Woking, is wanted for 15 offenses and 3 warrants in the area.
    Police searched a property in the hamlet and recovered loads of stolen property.
  2. Authorities all over the province are looking for Jan-Anne August. She’s known for activities in quite a few areas including Clairmont and Grande Prairie.
    However, it’s not known where she is, but if she is encountered, do not approach, just call 911.
  3. McLennan RCMP have confirmed the arrest of Jennifer Helen Emard, who turned herself in yesterday. Emard is due in court later this month.
  4. ABO Wind is now ABO Energy, and they had to re-submit their project, due to a recent Provincial Government Moratorium on renewable energy projects.
    The project would be located on private land in the MD of Smoky River, between Nampa and Falher.
  5. The Town of Valleyview wants to change their bylaw to update the process of electing a mayor.
    If the changes are adopted, town residents will elect six Councillors and one Mayor in the next election.
    Before, residents elected seven Councillors, with the Mayor Appointed by Council.
  6. The Fire Hall in Joussard has a new Pumper-Rescue truck. The new vehicle was part of Big Lakes County’s budget in 2022, and enhances emergency response in the area.
    The truck is expected to serve the area for the next two decades, with a primary focus on rescue and structure fires.
  7. La Crete and FSJ are to meet in the NWJHL final, starting this weekend in La Crete, but the Lumber Barons have home-ice advantage, despite the Huskies having the better record.
    League officials say that the playoff format decided upon before the season, called for the team that won the regular season head-to-head having home ice in the finals.
    Games 1 & 2 are Saturday and Sunday in La Crete.
  8. Three Canadian teams are in action in the NHL tonight… Edmonton is in New Jersey, Florida’s in Toronto, and Boston is in Ottawa.
  9. The snow has tapered off in the Peace, but it continues in the Big Lakes, who are still under a Snowfall Warning.
    15-20 cm will hit the ground in the Big Lakes, before all is said and done, while the Peace and some parts of the Mackenzie clear out and dig out.
    Temps are around -10 today and between -15 and -20 tonight.
