  1. Exposure times have been released by Alberta Health Services concerning St. Theresa Hospital in Fort Vermilion.
    AHS says that if people were born in, or after 1970 and have less than two documented doses of measles-containing vaccine, they are susceptible to contracting the virus.
  2. The Board of the Peace River School Division have voted in favour to consider closing, or having programs altered at Dixonville School.
    The Division says the next step is to organize a date for a public hearing to determine a viable solution.
  3. Town Council in Peace River have given the go-ahead for the development of residential infrastructure on the West Hill.
    The approved development includes one five-story residential apartment building; a single-level parkade; and four commercial buildings.
  4. The provincial government has been highlighting some of the money in the budget for highway construction projects. (Interview in separate story)
    Transportation Minister Devin Dreeshen says a total of $1.25 billion is planned over the next three years in the North, including some work happening in the Peace region.
  5. A liquidation at all Hudson’s Bay stores could start as soon as tomorrow and last for up to 12 weeks.
    The liquidation being sought will span 80 stores as well as three Saks Fifth Avenue stores and 13 Saks Off 5th locations in Canada that it owns through a licensing agreement.
  6. After the Bank of Canada cut the interest rate for the seventh time in a row Wednesday, experts say that’s good news for people looking to buy or sell a home in Canada.
    Home prices have been stable for the past two-and-a-half years and the situation will get even better.

  8. Major League Baseball begins tomorrow morning in Tokyo Japan.
    The LA Dodgers and the Chiciago Cubs play a pair tomorrow and Wednesday morning, while the rest of the Majors start next Thursday.
    The Toronto Blue Jays have announced that Jose Berrios will be the opening Day starter for the third time in the last four years.
  9. A slight chance of flurries are in the forecast for the Northwest, but things will clear up and warm up as the week progresses.
    Highs this afternoon are around the -5 mark, with lows tonight around -15. Temps could be pushing +10, by the weekend.
