  1. Fairview RCMP have executed search warrants, and are looking for suspects.
    In the first weekend of April, police raided a residence and found 91 firearms with hand-made price tags, ready to be re-sold.
    Two days later, a second warrant was done, with numerous stolen items recovered.
  2. Camping season , as well as the heart of Wildfire season is right around the corner, and jurisdictions have already put restrictions in place.
    For example, the MD of Fairview and Birch Hills County have a Fire Ban in effect, because of the dry, windy weather in the area.
  3. At Council in Berwyn, Staff Seargent Lacey Blair provided an update on local initiatives with the RCMP.
    Council has also listed the arena for sale, as no community groups have come forward to operate the facility.
  4. The town of High Level is surveying its residents for feedback on the community’s future. The Residential, Commercial, and Industrial Needs Assessment is now open.
    Postcards will be sent to residents with the link to complete this portion of the survey.
  5. Three Canadian teams are in action in the NHL tonight. LA’s in Edmonton, Chicago is in Montreal, and San Jose is in Vancouver.
  6. Canada plays the hosts this afternoon at the Women’s World Hockey Championships in the Czech Republic. The Maple Leaf is 2-1 at the tournament.
  7. The Toronto Blue Jays start a three-game set at home to Atlanta tonight. Easton Lucas starts for the Jays against Grant Holmes.
  8. Lots of sunshine this afternoon in the Northwest, with digits in the low teens. A little more cloud cover tonight, with the Mackenzie having rain or snow fall near midnight.
    Lows tonight are just above freezing. The precip. continues in the Mackenzie, but skies will clear off, yet cool off a little tomorrow.
