- The MD of Greenview has implemented a weight restriction on the Bridge on Little Smoky Road in the hamlet.
A limit of 10 tonnes has been imposed for the bridge, because of a recent inspection that has determined repairs are required. - Investiagtions continue at Zavisha Sawmill in Hines Creek, after a fire heavily damaged the sawmill structure, this past weekend.
Crews from Hines Creek, Fairview and Worsley, as well as Alberta Wildfire with air support, were able to contain the blaze, preventing spread to log and lumber inventories, as well as off the property. - Glen Whitney’s case is out, while Christopher Valin, Guy Valin and Brooke Burton are all due in court in Peace River at a later date.
The four were arrested after 54 year-old Wilfred Rever of Manning, was found by bear hunters last May. - From the RCMP’s Wanted File, authorities are continuing to look for Latasha Marie Ducharme.
She’s wanted for activities in High Level, and Bushe River. Ducharme’s last known whereabouts was in High Level. - The province is looking to get more support for farmers and ranchers.
With global uncertainty affecting numerous markets, Ag. Minister RJ Sigurdson says he’s been working with counterparts in the US and Mexico on protecting trade agreements. (Interview in separate story) - Teams in the Wheatbelt Baseball League are continuing their preparations for the season.
The Peace River Stampeders are holding another workout tonight at 6:30 at the ski hill for players interested in trying out.

Game 2 – Florida is in Tampa Bay, the Panthers took the opening game. - The PWHL is expanding in popularity, and in the League. The League has announced they are expanding to Vancouver next season, giving the League seven teams.
Vancouver will play out of the Pacific Coliseum, the former home of the Vancouver Canucks. - The CFL has introduced Stewart Jackson as the new commissioner.
The League draft is next week, Training Camps open on May 11, the pre-season starts May 19, and the regular season starts June 5. - A mix of sun and cloud continues this afternoon in the Northwest. Highs are in the mid teens, with lows tonight finally above zero, but still chilly.
The warmest day is tomorrow at digits nudging 20, but the coolest is Sunday, with numbers in the single digits. They do bounce back next week.
