- The Evacuation Order for the Red Earth Creek area has been lifted, however, residents need to be prepared to evacuate again, if conditions change.
Meanwhile, Evacuation Alerts are still in place for the Slims Creek Fire, north of Manning, and the Sousa Creek Fire near Chateh. - School Divisions around the Northwest are reminding the public about safety, using caution and reducing speed around school busses.
This after a passenger vehicle collided with a school bus near Berwyn on Friday. - Crime stats are up, and people want them to go down in High Prairie. A public forum on crime issues was held, hosted by Town Council. (David Joy Interview in separate story)

Alberta Health Services has been split apart into several different organizations, but NDP leader Naheed Nenshi says peoples access to health care has been getting worse. - Wheatbelt Baseball League tonight… Grimshaw is in Sexsmith. The Huskies are 5-5, The Rainiers are 3-4. Peace River is in Rycroft. The Stamps are 7-2, the Rage are 5-3.
- The Edmonton Oilers have traded Forward Evander Kane to the Vancouver Canucks for a fourth round pick in this year’s draft.
The moved frees up $5 million dollars of cap space, for the possible re-signings of Evan Bouchard and Connor McDavid. - Spirit River’s Dayle Ross has been drafted to the Professional Women’s Hockey League. Ross was selected in the fourth round, 25th overall by the New York Sirens.
She has spent the last four seasons playing Division 1 Hockey at St. Cloud State University in Minnesota. - The Alberta Junior Hockey League has released their schedule for the 2026 season.
The exhibition schedule includes a pair of games in Slave Lake between Grande Prairie and Fort McMurray. - A mix of sun and cloud is forecasted in the Northwest this afternoon. Highs are around 25, except for just 20 in the Big Lakes.
