The Canadian singer songwriter known as The Weeknd, real name Abel Tesfaye from Toronto appears to be ending his alter ego after his upcoming album.
In an interview with W Magazine that he is “ready to close The Weeknd chapter.” He did go onto say that it isn’t the end of his music career but the “alter ego.”
The Toronto signer songwriter would state, “I’ll still make music, maybe as Abel, maybe as The Weeknd. But I still want to kill The Weeknd.”
The Weeknd/Abel has reportedly has agreed to be a partner in a bid led by Toronto billionaires Jeffrey and Michael Kimel to be an owner of the Ottawa Senators. The singer purchased a stake in esports company OverActive Media in 2019, has not publicly confirmed his interest in purchasing the Senators.
Maybe this is apart of the him closing “The Weeknd” character. If so he hasn’t stated as such. All we know is it appears “The Weeknd” is coming to an end.
